Mimirea Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 25 August 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to Norwegian language lessons and related services provided by Mimirea.
By purchasing or participating in a paid Mimirea lesson or lesson package, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. About Mimirea
Mimirea provides personalised online Norwegian language tuition.
Business: Mimirea
ABN: 66 503 977 132
Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Email: hello.mimirea@gmail.com
2. Free consultation
New students may request a free 30-minute consultation.
The consultation provides an opportunity to discuss your current Norwegian level, learning goals, interests, preferences and possible lesson structure.
There is no obligation to purchase lessons following a consultation.
Consultations are subject to availability and are intended as an introduction and planning session rather than a full Norwegian lesson.
3. Lessons
Lessons are provided online at an agreed date and time.
Paid lessons may generally be booked for either:
- 1 hour
- 2 hours
Lessons are personalised according to the student’s level, goals and learning needs. They may incorporate textbooks and other learning materials as well as conversation, speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary and Norwegian culture.
While Mimirea aims to support each student’s progress, no particular language level, examination result, employment outcome or other specific result can be guaranteed within a particular period. Progress will vary according to factors including participation, lesson frequency and independent practice.
4. Prices
Current standard prices are:
Pay as you go — $100 per hour
5-hour package — $475
$95 per hour — 5% saving
10-hour package — $900
$90 per hour — 10% saving
All prices are in Australian dollars unless otherwise stated.
The applicable price will be confirmed before payment.
5. Bookings and payment
Submitting a booking request through the Mimirea website does not automatically confirm a lesson.
A lesson is confirmed once Mimirea and the student have agreed on the date and time.
Payment instructions will be provided after the lesson or package arrangement has been confirmed.
Unless otherwise agreed, payment is required before the relevant lesson or lesson package begins.
6. Lesson packages
Package hours can be used for one-hour or two-hour lessons, subject to availability.
A 5-hour package is valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.
A 10-hour package is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
Students are responsible for arranging and using their lesson hours within the applicable validity period.
If exceptional circumstances prevent a student from using the remaining hours before expiry, the student should contact Mimirea before the package expires. Mimirea may, where appropriate, agree to extend the validity period.
Package hours are for the purchasing student and cannot ordinarily be transferred to another person without prior agreement from Mimirea.
Nothing in these package conditions limits any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.
7. Student cancellations and rescheduling
A lesson may be cancelled or rescheduled without charge when at least 24 hours’ notice is provided.
Where less than 24 hours’ notice is provided, the booked lesson may be charged at the applicable rate or deducted from the student’s package hours.
Mimirea recognises that unexpected circumstances can occur. Exceptional circumstances may be considered individually.
Students should contact Mimirea as soon as reasonably possible if they need to cancel or reschedule.
8. Late arrival and missed lessons
Students should join their lesson at the agreed starting time.
If a student arrives late, the lesson will ordinarily finish at the originally scheduled time.
If a student does not attend a confirmed lesson and has not provided the required cancellation notice, the lesson may be charged or deducted from the student’s package.
Exceptional circumstances may be considered individually.
9. Cancellations by Mimirea
If Mimirea needs to cancel or reschedule a lesson, the student will be offered a reasonable alternative time.
Package hours will not be deducted for a lesson cancelled by Mimirea.
If an alternative arrangement cannot reasonably be made, any payment relating specifically to an undelivered lesson will be credited or refunded as appropriate, subject to the student’s rights under Australian law.
10. Package cancellations and refunds
Lesson packages are offered at a discounted hourly rate in return for purchasing a set number of lesson hours in advance.
Students should therefore choose their package carefully.
Mimirea does not ordinarily provide refunds for unused or partially used lesson packages where a student simply changes their mind, decides not to continue lessons, no longer requires the lessons, or does not use the package within its stated validity period.
If exceptional circumstances prevent a student from using a package before its expiry date, the student is encouraged to contact Mimirea before the package expires. Where appropriate, Mimirea may offer an extension of the remaining package hours.
This change-of-mind policy does not exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.
Where a student is legally entitled to cancellation, a refund or another remedy under the Australian Consumer Law, those rights will apply.
11. Australian Consumer Law
Mimirea’s services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Among other requirements, services supplied to consumers must be provided with due care and skill and, where applicable, be reasonably fit for an agreed purpose. Where no timeframe has been agreed, services must also be supplied within a reasonable time.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
If these Terms & Conditions conflict with a non-excludable right under the Australian Consumer Law, the Australian Consumer Law will apply.
12. Online lessons and technology
Students are responsible for having a suitable device, internet connection and environment for participating in online lessons.
If significant technical difficulties prevent a lesson from proceeding, Mimirea and the student will attempt to make a reasonable alternative arrangement taking into account the circumstances and cause of the disruption.
13. Learning materials and intellectual property
Learning materials provided by Mimirea are supplied for the student’s personal educational use unless otherwise stated.
Original materials created by Mimirea may not be reproduced, sold, published, distributed or shared publicly without permission.
Textbooks, articles, recordings, videos and other third-party resources remain subject to the copyright and usage rights of their respective owners.
14. Respectful participation
Mimirea aims to provide an inclusive, respectful and productive learning environment.
Students are expected to communicate and participate respectfully. Mimirea reserves the right to discontinue services in response to serious or repeated abusive, threatening, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate behaviour.
Any treatment of prepaid, unused services in these circumstances will take account of the particular circumstances and applicable Australian law.
15. Changes to prices, services and these terms
Mimirea may update its lesson offerings, prices and these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
Changes to advertised prices will not retrospectively change the price of a lesson package that has already been purchased.
Material changes affecting an existing student’s prepaid services will be communicated where reasonably necessary.
The version of these Terms & Conditions applying when a package or service is purchased will ordinarily govern that purchase, subject to applicable law.
